Taxi to Khao Takiab Beach
Khao Takiab Beach lies near Takiab town, at the opposite end of the bay from Hua Hin City Beach. A private driver brings you there from Bangkok or an airport and stops at your hotel or bungalow. The price for this drop-off is confirmed when you book.
What the beach is like
It is much wider than the central city beach, noisy and varied, with no clear border between sand and surroundings. The mood is closer to a market than to a resort strip. The coast has enough plants to give some shade.
Unlike City Beach, no macaques are found here. Many condominiums, bungalows and hotels stand very close to the sea.
Because the area is built up, hotels and bungalows sit on side streets. Give the full address in your booking so the driver does not guess.
What you can do
You can rent boats, scooters and horses. People play football on the sand, take long walks and use sun loungers. A man-made stone ridge extends into the sea, and visitors fish for crabs there.
Swimming is not very convenient, because the bottom slopes too gently. For a better swim try Sai Noi Beach, a quieter stretch nearby.
Getting there from Bangkok and the airports
A Standard Sedan on the Bangkok to Hua Hin route costs 1,999 THB per car in total, see Bangkok city to Hua Hin. The price for a hotel at Takiab is confirmed when you book.
Airport guests can read Suvarnabhumi to Hua Hin and Don Mueang to Hua Hin. The driver waits at Suvarnabhumi Exit 3, or at Don Mueang Gate 5 for international flights and Gate 11 for domestic ones, and follows your flight number, so a delay costs nothing extra.
